You do not lose your re-enrolments in June. You lose them in January.

Every spring, the same ritual : you get the re-enrolment forms ready, you chase people, you cross your fingers. And every September, 15 to 25 % of riders do not come back. Here is the uncomfortable idea : by the time you send your first reminder in June, the decision was made months ago.

The invisible decision of winter

A rider almost never decides to leave in June. They decide in January, on a rainy Wednesday when the lesson was cancelled without them knowing and they drove forty minutes for nothing. They decide in February, stuck at the same level for months with nobody telling them where they stand. They decide in March, when their request to change slot got lost between two phone calls.

In June they are not making a decision : they are formalising an accumulation. Your re-enrolment form is not a loyalty tool, it is a thermometer. And you do not cure a fever by shaking the thermometer.

What really builds loyalty (and almost nobody does)

The 5-minute test : ask three riders at your yard where they stand in their progress. If they cannot answer precisely, your September re-enrolment rate is already being written, right now.

June harvests what January sowed

The good news is that none of this means more work : it means tools that do that work for you, all year long, while you teach. Re-enrolment is not a spring campaign. It is the closing note of a ten-month experience.
